Dutch Neck shop will perk you up
Hopewell — Some area coffee lovers were beginning to think that quaint little Dutch Neck Village might not be the place to quench their thirst anymore.
The Perk and Pantry’s doors were set to close, and manager Emily Heckman had begun liquidating the supplies. Sale of the gourmet food shop had fallen through, and with only weeks left before the lease ended in May, she was selling things off.
But her kids knew someone who knew someone — Stephanie Bogart, a mother whose children also attend Bridgeton Christian School. Bogart had been out of the work force for nine years, but had been looking to return now that her youngest was in kindergarten
“I was not finding the right job to fit my schedule,” Bogart said. “Emily’s children go to school with ours, and we found out the business was for sale right before she closed the doors.”
