Precious Moments Inc. Announces Dora the Explorer License

The most popular girl on the Nickelodeon children’s network is the adventurous Dora The Explorer, and Precious Moments, Inc. (PMI) announces a new licensing agreement with Nickelodeon, through its parent company, Viacom International, Inc. Initial Nora The Explorer product will be introduced during 2014 Winter Gift Shows, with delivery to retailers midyear.

PMI is the owner and marketer of the award-winning Precious Moments Collection™, based on the inspirational art of Sam Butcher. The family-owned company is also licensor for Precious Moments art, which currently appears on thousands of products marketed through more than 75 licensees worldwide. Now in its 36th year, the teardrop-eyed Precious Moments artwork is one of the top recognized brands internationally.

Dora The Explorer is the latest brand to join the PMI family, which includes such famous names at Disney, Hello Kitty, Elvis, Ne’Qwa Art, and Pipka Old World Creations. In bringing additional brands to market, each one has been selected to complement Precious Moments and its mission to produce uplifting, positive, inspiring gifts and collectibles, with meaningful messages for every occasion or event.

“We are proud to bring Dora The Explorer into the PMI fold and excited at the potential it represents,” said PMI President Don Butcher. “We are particularly enthusiastic about the first bi-lingual product we have ever offered. Beginning with our first release, Dora will be teaching Spanish – a feat she does throughout her television adventures. There will also be co-branding with PMI subjects, as well. We look forward to the many opportunities this new license presents.”

The license with Nickelodeon includes porcelain and ceramic figurines, musicals, waterballs, and ornaments, among others. No plans are forthcoming with regard to the categories in development for 2014.
