Retailer provides last-minute holiday shopping help
Christmas shoppers who have waited until the last minute to do their shopping can rest easy.
While most retail stores see an increase in holiday shopping the week before Christmas, shoppers shouldn’t hesitate to get out and pick up those last-minute ideas.
“Generally, we do see an increase in shopping activity during the last week and days before Christmas. I anticipate that this year will be the same,” said general manager for Willowbrook Mall Brenda Crawford. “Over my years in shopping centers, I have to say there is a very special, very festive atmosphere during the last week.
“People are generally happy, in good spirits. Shoppers who wait until the last minute seem to have a good sense of humor. Many shoppers tell us that they wait until the last week just to be in the middle of it all.” Retailers suggest that last-minute shoppers take a few steps to prepare before they head out.
“If you’re a last-minute shopper, you would be wise to be very organized,” Crawford said. “Plan your trip carefully. You can add in the little extras as you go, but if you start with a defined list, the day will go smoother.” Crawford suggests that shoppers shouldn’t panic. Many stores offer longer hours for last-minute holiday shopping, and shoppers would be wise to take a few minutes to breathe.
