River Card renews ‘Shop Local’ emphasis
Laughlin — The latest step in the local business community’s efforts to encourage residents to “Shop Local” will be the River Card, a gift card that can be purchased for varying amounts. It will go on sale on April 19, at the Laughlin and Bullhead Area Chambers of Commerce offices during regular business hours.
The card will be usable, initially, at seven locations in Bullhead City and Fort Mohave, but the network is expected to expand rapidly.
In Bullhead City, the charter businesses will be Coliano’s Italian Restaurant, D’Angelos Italian Restaurant, Buffalo Wild Wings restaurant and Jet Digital Printing. In Fort Mohave, they will be Frontier Wheels, Colorado River Tees and Diamond in the Rough Salon.
Although part of the Global E. Telecom, Inc., gift card system, handled by the Prodigy Payment Systems chain, the River Card will be strictly a local business-use gift card, with purchases of the cards recorded electronically at the chambers for immediate use at the stores.
