Indianapolis, IN – Two Indianapolis businesswomen are spurring shopping at local businesses and restaurants through their company that sends a mysterious box to doorsteps.

Every three months, Samita Pendse starts packing boxes with items from local businesses through Citybox, a company started a year ago by Jan Ranade, Pendse’s former roommate.

Pendse filled boxes with sunglasses from Sunglass Warehouse — a Greenwood-based business — an herbal lip balm called ChopSaver — created for wind musicians by professional trumpeter Dan Gosling of Indianapolis — and other items including soap from Soapbox Soaps in Indianapolis and coffee from Darrin’s Coffee in Zionsville.
