Shop offers unusual gifts
St. George — Offering a unique assortment of customizable and pre made gift baskets in addition to a selection of other items, Chris Pendle said she hopes to garner the attention of consumers during trying economic times.
After opening Pendle’s Baskets & Gifts in November, Pendle said the shop experienced a healthy surge in activity as a result of the holiday sea son, but sales have since declined, in dicating an expected lull during the winter months.
“This time of year is tough for any body,” Pendle said, but she hopes to build a strong customer base by offer ing a wide array of affordable gifts.
Pendle said she hopes to expose members of the community to her shop’s distinctive offerings, includ ing customizable gift baskets, jewelry, home décor and a variety of other gifts.
“Everybody is watching every penny,” Pendle said, as she offers gift baskets at an average price of $30 to $35. “We’re just here for the little guy.”
Pendle said she is able to keep costs down by shopping for deals when pur chasing her stock. Rather than forcing customers to choose from her existing inventory of baskets, Pendle said she offers residents an opportunity to customize their gift sets with any number of items pur chased within her store or elsewhere.
