Waxahachie, TX – Instead of shopping at the large retailers for the holiday season, residents are encouraged to come to downtown Waxahachie and shop locally. Shopping locally not only keeps retailers in business, but it helps to support your hometown.
Downtown Development Director Anita Williamson said by shopping locally around 80 percent of the dollars spent stay in the community unlike 60-70 percent that leaves the city when shopping with a chain.
Downtown Waxahachie has many different businesses that offer something for every need or want of holiday shoppers. Businesses offer a variety of different items for sale that range from clothing, home décor, jewelry, crafting, quilting and toys. A trip downtown can be also turned into an afternoon event by stopping by the many different restaurants and taking in a meal.
