Specialty Food Association Launches Contest for National Ad Campaign

Got a good story about great food? The Specialty Food Association wants to hear it.

Just in time for the Summer Fancy Food Show, the Specialty Food Association presents a contest for specialty food professionals to tell a compelling story about their passion for specialty food. The prize is the winner’s own free national ad campaign and a three-day trip to San Francisco, a $15,000 value.

Entries can be made at the Summer Fancy Food Show at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in New York, which runs this Sunday, June 29 – Tuesday, July 12. The contest can also be entered online at specialtyfood.com/mystory through July 12, 2013.

The contest is part of the Association’s launch of its new brand: Specialty Food. Craft. Care. Joy. “Our brand highlights the passion, creativity and quality that fuel the specialty food industry,” says Association President Ann Daw. “The contest gives a chance to shine to the dedicated people behind the foods that delight so many consumers.”

Entries are already pouring in with titles like “It’s in My DNA,” “My Destiny,” and “Proud to be Fourth Generation.”

The Specialty Food Association, founded in 1952 in New York, celebrated its 60th anniversary in 2012. Looking ahead amid record sales in the $86 billion U.S. specialty food industry, the Association, formerly the National Association for the Specialty Food Trade, Inc., changed its name earlier this year and launched its first-ever ad campaign featuring successful food makers and the stories behind their craft.
