The Covered Bridge Mercantile Makes Silent Opening a Success
Trimble, TN – Growing up in Trimble, Tennessee, Virginia Williamson has always had an appreciation for old-world Southern artifacts. Williamson started out as photographer and traveled all over the world. However, Williamson had the urge to do something more. Even though she lives in Jackson, she would still travel back and forth to Trimble for her family’s farm business. Her father Hamilton Parks was the former owner of the cotton gin in Trimble. After the cotton gin had been vacant since the 1980s, in 2012 Parks sold everything except the old cotton gin office.
When Williamson found out her father hadn’t sold the office to the distillery she asked him if she could lease the building from him in order to create her own store for the community.
“My father told me as long has I had a name which would incorporate the covered bridge, I could lease it from him,” stated Williamson.
