The Bee Hive creates a real buzzBy Mary Daisy ShockleyDelmarvaNow.com

Fenwick Island — There’s a new gift shop in town offering home décor, jams, jellies and souvenirs.

The Bee Hive, located in the Village of Fenwick on Route 1, opened in February and has been well-received by the community, according to owner Richard Bailey.

“I love being in retail and meeting people and making friends,” he said. “I wanted to offer fun things for people to enjoy at the beach.”

One of the items he’s most excited about is the Sandy Foot, which enables beachgoers to create a footprint casting using sand and ocean water.

“These are going to be really popular,” he said. “It takes about 15 to 20 minutes to dry and it comes with a stick to write on the back of it.”

The Sandy Foot comes in an assortment of colors including natural sand, purple, green, yellow, blue or pink.

The shop also carries items from local vendors such as hot sauce from Bethany Blues and Peppers.
