Tribunal, Advocate Coming To Help Small Businesses Near You
A SMALL Business Tribunal with powers to investigate and conciliate will be created to help independent traders avoid costly and time-consuming legal fights with other businesses.
It will also assist micro enterprises who are more likely to admit defeat than take an issue to court because of the potential for crippling expenses.
And a Small Business Advocate will be appointed to make the case for the sector in all reaches of government.
The moves will be announced today by Small Business Minister Nick Sherry.
Are you a small business owner affected by this? Do the government’s measures seem like enough? Email us at news@news.com.au and tell us your story.
The policy proposals started to take shape late last year after the election, but the announcement comes at the end of a week in which news.com.au has highlighted discontent among small business operators, and the high number of closures between the 2007 and 2010 elections.
