Winter 2011 Home Textiles Market Week® Features New Companies and Returning Notables in Four Venues

White Plains, NY – Nearly 500 bed, bath, linen and home fashion vendors will participate in Home Textiles Market Week® in New York, January 28 – February 3, 2011, offering home buyers the largest collection of home textiles resources in the United States. The semi-annual market for mid-to-high-end home textiles will be presented at four locations in Manhattan: NYIGF at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center and Passenger Ship Terminal Piers (92& 94), 230 Fifth Avenue and 7 W New York® (7W 34th Street). Beyond exhibits, the week’s activities also include a series of educational seminars, and “Only in New York ” after-hours activities.

“No other market in the United States offers such a wide range of mid-to-high-end home fashions,” said Dorothy Belshaw, NYIGF director and GLM senior vice president. “Through the cooperation between the NYIGF and New York City’s permanent showrooms, we can provide market-goers with a comprehensive sourcing and shopping opportunity, as well as some very unique after-hours experiences.”

At Home featuring Home Textiles at the Javits Center presents some 200 suppliers of bed and bath fashions, such as table linens, kitchen textiles, towels, decorative accessories, area rugs, window treatments and decorative fabrics. Key new or returning exhibitors include CocoCozy (pillows, throws); Designer’s Guild Home (bedding, pillows); John Robshaw (pillows, bedding); Matouk (bedding, bath, pillows); Mike + Ally (bath accessories); Pendleton Woolen Mills (blankets, throws); Pluto (loungewear); Ralph Lauren (Sferra’s newest bedding and bath line); Roberta Roller Rabbit (pillows, tabletop linens, home accessories); Sferra (bedding, throws); and Softline (curtains, drapery panels).

At Home featuring Home Textiles also welcomes leading suppliers returning to NYIGF after an absence from the New York Market, or relocating from other NYIGF divisions.  This includes Aalamwaar Textiles (pillows, accessories); DownRight (down products); Enovy (silk pillows, shawls); Lavender Blue (bed linens); Marcel Miller (luxury linens); Madeira Embroideries Institute (Portuguese linens); and Peacock Alley (bedding).

At 7 W New York  ten new home fashions suppliers have opened suites for the2011 market: Blonder Home (Suite 635); Bellino Fine Linens (922); Synergy Global Home/Shri Lakshmi Cotsyn Limited (Suite 627); Kaleen Rugs (Suite 820); Liberty Fashion Textiles (Suite 521); Loretta Lee Limited (Suite 718); Levtex LLC (Suite 613); Milagros Imports (Suite 920); Pacific Coast Home (Suite 539); and Rizzy Home (Suite 733).

These newcomers join current tenants expanding their suite space: Devgiri Exports / ABC Industries (Suite 817); Harman (Suite 711); InterDesign (Suite 504); Phoenix Home Fashions (Suite 500); Peking Handicraft (Suite 912); Robely (Suite 423); and SARO (Suite 900).

During the Market Week, several suites are expected to draw buyers with showroom specials, product launches, designer appearances, special receptions and promotions.

230 Fifth Avenue will welcome the addition and expansion of several leading home fashions vendors for the winter 2011 Home Textiles Market Week.  Newcomers are Signoria Di Firenze (Suite 1903) and Trendex (Suite 1002); and tenants expanding their showroom space are C.C. Premiums (Suite 1315) and Softline (Suite 1209).

Several educational seminars and social events will supplement market activities. On Sunday, January 30, WGSN-HomeBuildLife.com will present Home Trends 2011-2012 identifying macro-trends influencing home and interior concepts, colors and materials; and on Monday, January 31, New York City’s International Furnishings & Design Association (IFDA) will host Color Pulse 2012, previewing key 2011-2012 color trends and their home applications.

Through the cooperation of GLM, 7 W New York  and 230 Fifth Avenue, buyers and suppliers can enjoy free VIP FastPass admission and complementary skate rental atCiti PondSM at Bryant Park during winter Market Week, January 28-February 3, 2011. As an added bonus, on Saturday, January 29, Ryan O’Meara, a former ice dancer who competed in the 2006 Winter Olympics, will make an exclusive on-ice performance at Citi PondSM at Bryant Park. O’Meara, currently a home products retailer and interior designer, will perform with partner Emily Nussear, at 6:30pm, and market-goers can join the pair on the ice until 8:30pm.

Additionally, NYIGF’s “A Night on Broadway” will feature specially-priced tickets to the 2010 Tony Award winning Best Musical MEMPHIS on Tuesday, February 1.  Tickets, which normally cost $125, are $90 each, with the difference being absorbed by NYIGF.
