CraZy LadyZ come to town; Women’s clothing store opens second locationBy Charlene PolkDelmarvaNow.com

West Ocean City — Crazy ladies have come to town. The shop, that is, although, as owner Jan Parks likes to say, “There’s a little crazy in all of us.”

Crazy Ladyz, a women’s clothing store, opened in the Ocean Gateway Center on Route 50 June 22. It is the second Crazy Ladyz for owners Parks and Louise Reardon, who already own a store in Chincoteague, Va.

“We had so much fun working in the store in Chincoteague,” Reardon said. “We thought it’d be so great if we could do that all the time.”

Reardon and Parks, Washington D.C.-area corporate recruiting partners, moved to the Ocean Pines area at the end of last year with no plans of opening a second store. Parks said the move was so they would be closer to the Chincoteague store.

“We had the intention of doing recruiting but things just fell together and in April we found the right space for a store,” Reardon said.

The space, though, was unfinished, and the duo started with what Parks described as a “mustard yellow rectangle.” The empty space has since become a bright, vibrant atmosphere, filled with color, from the walls down to the dresses on the racks.

“We had no vision to start with,” Parks said. “It all just came together.”
