Japanese Group XCIDIA Plans US Debut at San Francisco International Gift Fair

White Plains, NY – XCIDIA, a Japanese group featuring contemporary innovative product, will make its US tradeshow debut at the San Francisco International Gift Fair, January 26-29, 2008. The group’s participation will expand the Fair’s international resources to include a total of 100 companies from 14 countries.

Located within Accent on Design, XCIDIA will present apparel, bed and bath accessories, home decor, housewares, stationery and museum gifts, designed and produced in Japan. From the 60 participants, notable introductions will include Mizutori’s ‘reinvented’ geta sandals. This revolutionary new footwear is hand-carved from Hinoki white cedar to fit the natural shape of the foot for exceptional comfort mizutori.co.jp. In addition, Bunaco will present bowls, stools and lamps handcrafted from birchwood strips that have been treated, hand-woven and hand-carved into high-design decor items bunaco.jp.

“As a diverse, global marketplace, the San Francisco International Gift Fair is the perfect venue for the debut of XCIDIA’s comprehensive collection of designer offerings – from home decor to giftware,” said Michelle Wong, Marketing Development Manager, XCIDIA. “We have chosen the San Francisco Fair because the buyers here are open to new trends and unique, fashion-forward, contemporary styles.”

Designed by a renowned architect from Japan, XCIDIA’s snap-together booth structure will be a blend of traditional and modern Japanese Kohshi design made from Finish birchwood. Architect Kenta Kishi, who has worked on numerous projects in Tokyo with Hermes and other high-end companies, has incorporated the sounds of nature and ambient lighting to create a distinctive atmosphere for spotlighting the products of the group’s Japanese designers.

Beyond these resources, retailers will find a broad scope of international products, representing Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, France, India, Mexico Nepal, Niger, South Africa, Taiwan and the United Kingdom, throughout the Fair. A partial list of international resources is attached.

The San Francisco International Gift Fair is co-managed by Western Exhibitors and GLM, a dmg world media business.
