Yankee Candle Announces Boston Strong Candle, Supports One Fund Boston

To honor the victims affected by the recent Boston Marathon tragedy and the bravery of the responders involved, Massachusetts-based Yankee Candle is launching a limited edition Boston Strong candle that is available online for pre-order now. All net proceeds for the commemorative candle will be donated to the One Fund Boston, the official non-profit organized by Mayor Tom Menino and Governor Deval Patrick to raise money to help those families most affected by the Boston Marathon bombings.

With its headquarters located in South Deerfield, Yankee Candle has called Massachusetts home for more than forty years and so this tragedy in particular was very close to the company’s heart. Candles are a symbol of hope and the Boston Strong candle was created with this spirit in mind.

The candle is available in a large jar at yankeecandle.com for $27.99 MSRP while supplies last. Customers can pre-order the candle now, which is expected to ship starting on May 22. The Boston Strong candle is a heartwarming blend of cinnamon, baking spices, and a hint of freshly poured tea, and features an image of the Boston skyline in front of the American flag.

“As a Massachusetts based company, this tragedy has hit so very near to our hearts and we all wanted to help. A special candle seemed the perfect solution to offer to our customers and employees who are looking for ways to support the victims. I am pleased to share with you that we have designed a “Boston Strong” candle that will be on our website starting today and 100% of net proceeds from sales of this candle will be donated to The One Fund Boston, Inc.” – Harlan Kent, CEO, The Yankee Candle Company, Inc.
