Business is sweet for Mary Claire’s in Hamburg
Mary Claire Fowler knows a thing or two about dessert.
For one, her husband’s great-grandfather, Joseph Fowler, created chocolate recipes that are still making mouths water more than100 years later.
What’s more is that her years of experience as a wedding planner granted her an insider’s knowledge of which bakeries made quality products. (Fowler half-joked that she knew which businesses left “boo-boos” beneath the cake’s frosting.)
Now, Fowler has combined her knowledge of good food and good business to open her own store, Mary Claire’s, at 243 Buffalo Street in the Village of Hamburg.
Mary Claire’s carries products to satisfy any sweet tooth, including chocolates made from Joseph Fowler’s original recipes, as well as desserts and baked goods from Muscoreil’s Bakery and Bistro, which is located in North Tonawanda.
During her career as a caterer and event planner for Brierwood Country Club in Hamburg, Fowler noted that Muscoreil’s consistently delivered impressive, quality cakes. When Fowler chose to go into business for herself, she knew it was Muscoreil’s products that she wanted in her store. Muscoreil’s signature cakes for any occasion may be pre-ordered through Mary Claire’s.
