Fremont — Prairie Flowers recently opened at 121 S. Fifth St. and will continue to serve customers with fresh and silk floral arrangements.

Upon entering the store, you can see two display coolers of colorful fresh cut flowers and shelves filled with a variety of giftware. Green plants are everywhere.

Owners Bob and Christine Michael are enthusiastic about the new location. “It is a nice building, and there is plentiful parking. Plus it is a high traffic area, both for cars and pedestrians,” he said.

“We were fortunate to have started business 15 years ago in Rural Serv’s vacated garden store,” Christine said. Since then the farmers’ cooperative has merged three times and also changed names.

“With the most recent merger, Sunrise Cooperative will keep its corporate offices in Fremont, but we lost our lease because they wanted to increase their office area.”

Bob, who is the head designer, remains positive about the change in location.

“We look forward to serving our existing customers and adding new customers,” he said. “We specialize in fresh arrangements at affordable prices. We also offer colorful blooming plants, a wide variety of planter baskets, and we will have beautiful hanging baskets.”

The full service florist is prepared to meet every need of its customers.
