Gifts by Mia has opened at 12201 N. Highway 150, Suite 9A, in the Hickory Tree Crossing Shopping Center in Arcadia.

Mia Oglesby, owner of the new shop, said she has had an online gift and collectible business for two years but decided to open a retail shop near her home to better serve customers.

“I wanted to bring it alive, have a place where you could go to actually touch it,” Oglesby said.

Customers can still order online at the website, www.giftsbymia.com, but the shop carries a representative amount of the product lines available.

Oglesby said she carries handbags and wallets made by Donna Sharp, the second-largest quilted handbag manufacturer (after Vera Bradley), and GGing, a West Coast line of fashion purses. The shop also stocks a variety of costume jewelry and a number of garden lines, such as garden flags and stakes as well as fountains.

Seasonal decorative lines are also sold in the shop, with harvest and Halloween decor on display now.

The shop also carries a wide variety of collectibles, including Alley Cats figurines by Margaret Le Van, as well as fairies and dragons and Harley-Davidson and John Deere brand collectibles.
