Wholesalecrafts.com Reports Record Breaking August Sales

Mooresville, NC — Wholesalecrafts.com, the premier web service for sourcing American and Canadian made crafts, reports record breaking August sales.

Total sales for August 2009 came in at $372,261, the highest amount ever recorded for the month of August. 1,477 orders were placed online, with an average order amount of $252, a 7.69% increase over last year.

“Our total August sales amount slightly increased by 1.35% from 2008 to 2009,” said Nancy Vince, President, Wholesalecrafts.com, “but the total number of orders placed online actually decreased by 5.5%, making for a larger average order amount. With buyers watching their budgets and show attendance being down, it’s no surprise that our online sales are holding steady through the recession.” Wholesalecrafts.com estimates that only 30% of transactions are placed through their shopping cart, and the rest bypass their system by retailers placing orders by phone, fax or email directly with artists.

Wholesalecrafts.com reports “up to the second statistics” on their site, which can be accessed by its members. The site reports total sales, number of orders and number of inquiries. Retailers may place orders through the shopping cart or directly through the artists. Wholesalecrafts.com does not charge a commission on sales.

Enrollment in Wholesalecrafts.com is free for retailers. Artists pay a fee and are eligible for many marketing opportunities including a printed Buyers Guide catalog, which is mailed four times a year to retailers, co-op advertising in top trade publications, and an annual trade show, American Craft Retailers Expo (ACRE) in Las Vegas, NV. Artists may receive a temporary ID and password by calling 1-888-427-2381.

Wholesalecrafts.com features jewelry, home décor, gifts, fashion accessories, and garden accessories in a wide array of price points and styles. For more information, visit www.Wholesalecrafts.com.
