New Baby and Child Division Debuts at Summer NYIGF

White Plains, NY — Notable suppliers of well-designed, sophisticated and purpose-driven products for babies, toddlers and kids will exhibit in Baby & Child, a comprehensive new collection of design-focused products for children 0-10, which debuts at the summer 2010 New York International Gift Fair® (NYIGF®). Among the division’s exhibitors to date are Bella Bliss and Lumiere Kids, both of which are new to NYIGF, as well as Skip Hop and Lilliputiens s.a, which return to NYIGF after an absence from the market.

Baby & Child will feature some 200 leading brands and innovative new resources in a wide range of products, including arts and crafts, books, music, toys, games, puzzles, dolls and plush, gear (diaper bags, stroller accessories and feeding accessories), wearables and accessories, layette, bedding accessories and blankets.

“Parents today are sophisticated, savvy and discerning consumers who value aesthetics and workmanship as well as functionality in products for their children,” said Dorothy Belshaw, NYIGF director and GLM senior vice president. “Baby & Child will present a carefully-curated selection of products directed towards this growing market segment as a complement to NYIGF’s overall gift, home and lifestyle offerings.”

Wry Baby founder, Kelly Sopp, added, “Ten years ago, gift shops didn’t even carry baby products, but a new generation of creative parents has increased the demand and the opportunities. This new NYIGF division will re-energize the category, putting innovative and exciting style together in one place.”

Several leading suppliers of children’s products, apparel and accessories, are exhibiting for the first time in NYIGF as part of the Baby & Child launch. These newcomers include: Admiral Road Designs; Bella Bliss; Brinca Dada; Lumiere Kids; My True Nature, LLC; Nowali, Inc.; Petite Collage; Woolly Boo, LLC; and Zooni. This new division also has motivated Lilliputiens s.a. and Skip Hop to return to NYIGF after an absence from the market.

Exhibit space applications for Baby & Child are still being accepted and reviewed to insure that the product offerings meet the expectations in a growing consumer base within this product category. Baby & Child runs Saturday, August 14, through Wednesday, August 18, 2010, on Level One of New York City’s Jacob K. Javits Convention Center. Baby & Child is one of eight NYIGF divisions.

NYIGF is the nation’s premier gift, home and lifestyle marketplace, with 2,800 exhibiting companies featuring an extraordinary breadth and depth of design-driven home fashion products and complementary giftware. Some 35,000 attendees from all 50 states and more than 85 countries worldwide are expected. Information and registration is available online at www.nyigf.com.
