Braun Says She’ll ‘Roll Out Red Carpet To Small Business’By Mary HoulihanSunTimes.com

Mayoral candidate Carol Moseley Braun took her message about small business development to the Argyle Street business corridor Sunday morning.

Braun greeted patrons at the restaurant Pho 777 and met with local business owners from the neighborhood known for its Vietnamese restaurants, bakeries and grocery stores.

Trying to deal with City Hall can “leave a chilling effect” on small businesses, Braun said.

“We plan on rolling out the red carpet to small businesses,” Braun said. “City Hall will be their ally and supporter.”

Over the past eight years, Pho 777 owner Nicholas Nguyen has seen the Argyle neighborhood change. Stores are closing and crime is more common, he said.
