Tastemade to receive ‘Design Influencer’ award

Food and travel network Tastemade will receive the third annual “Design Influencer of the Year” award at the Housewares Design Awards Celebration on Tuesday, Jan. 29, at Las Vegas Market.

Founded in 2012, Tastemade is a millennial-based food and travel network that reaches more than 250 million people globally and is viewed through social channels as well as its television channel. Tastemade allows users to explore travel and cuisine through original content and user-submitted videos. Chris Place, head of product development and retail partnerships at Tastemade, will accept the award.

The “Design Influencer of the Year” Award was added to the Housewares Design Awards in 2017 to recognize an individual or organization for exceptional design or design influence. The 2017 inaugural Housewares Design Award recipient in Las Vegas was West Elm LOCAL and the 2018 winner was The Grommet.

Las Vegas Market is hosting the 2019 Housewares Design Awards as part of an ongoing partnership with HomeWorld Business, which founded the awards in 2003 to honor supplier efforts within the industry to create new ways to improve everyday living. The Housewares Design Awards recognize excellence in 13 categories — 11 core housewares categories, an expanded “Smart Home” category and a new “Gourmet Specialty Foods” category. Additionally, one of the 13 Best in Category winners will receive a special “Innovation of the Year” distinction.

On Jan. 29, Las Vegas Market will host a networking reception from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. on C11 in the Finalists’ Gallery display spotlighting the 2019 finalist products. The Awards Ceremony will follow from 6 p.m. to 7:15 p.m. Tickets, which include specialty cocktails and desserts, are $25 per person, and may be purchased online at: www.housewaresdesignawards.com/links/tickets_01.php

The winter 2019 Las Vegas Market runs January 27-31, 2019. For more information, visit www.lasvegasmarket.com.
