Citi Fid-Ohas been open for nearly 5 years, located in the cute Market Square in Knoxville. Terri Karlsson and her husband transitioned from a gourmet food and cookware store to running the friendliest four-legged shop in town.

Pet trends to look out for: Made in America products will continue to be big. This year, I’m bringing in a few more holiday-specific toys, fancy collars, etc.

Advice for new & potential store owners:You can’t be everything to everyone. Decide what you think your customer base will be … keep in mind that retail is as much art as science.
