Owner Mary Cambruzzi has established her store FOUND as a premiere destination for whimsical items in Ann Arbor, an inspiration that dates back to her childhood.

“For me that started with growing up in a yellow house that was midcentury modern,” Cambruzzi said. “We also had a cottage on the lake not too far from town, and at that place anything that didn’t move Mom would say ‘paint it.’”

Because the store’s background is personal for Cambruzzi, she and her staff bring the same philosophy when it comes to the products they sell.

“We make a point of knowing the stories behind the artists whose things we carry,” Cambruzzi said.
FOUND carries a variety of vintage and new products, something that is important to Cambruzzi because of the diverse customer demographic.

“Our customers come from all different places and having the vintage things in here does bring up memories for people,” Cambruzzi said.

The store has evolved over the past three years to feature more jewelry made of recycled material such as earrings, pens and items made from recycled zippers. Cambruzzi’s fundamental beliefs of the store will not change she said, as FOUND celebrates 10 years of service in May 2015.
