Best Sellers In The Hamptons, Long Island, NY By Diane Roncone

Broken Colour Works in Southampton

Walking into Broken Colour Works is like walking into a work of art. This home furnishings and interior design store, which specializes in custom finishes, has all their home products lovingly and artistically displayed with painstaking care. The store’s name comes from a European phrase for decorative painting techniques, where paint layers are used and the color is “broken” to create a textured finish. When the original Sag Harbor location opened in 2000, unfinished pieces of furniture were purchased, then hand-finished and sold. Today, the new location in Southampton still specializes in custom finishes but also carries a full range of products for the home, all of which are inspired by the colors of the Hamptons’ coast. Willey’s love of the Hamptons shows in every nook and cranny of the store.
