Pawducts with Purpose: Chavez for Charity
Carrying products that give back is a popular business model. But it’s so much more than just “good for business.” Selling cause-related collections gives a purpose to customers’ purchases as well as sharing the altruistic sentiment with the makers and the consumers.

Julie Chavez’s mission for her bracelet collection was simple: contribute as best as possible to issues we’re facing in the world today. The answer to that, was a collection of bracelets. A simple idea that would appeal to just about anyone who appreciates a colorful accent piece, and anyone who wants to support a good cause.
Company mission:
The founder, Julie Chavez, has a background in fashion jewelry and crafted the idea as well as our trademark phrase, Colors for Causes, as a way of giving back to those in need. Chavez for Charity is determined to make a positive, lasting impact on those in need.
How do your products serve the mission?
25 percent of our net profits are donated to our partner charities. We have 10 partner charities, as well as a program called The 11th Project, which allows retailers to support their own local charity with our 25-percent donation. For pets, we work with Best Friends Animal Society. We don’t have any plans (to expand to other pet charities) yet but we are always open to suggestions.
Plans for the future:
Continuing to evolve our collections and raise awareness and donations for our wonderful partner charities.
How can retailers get involved?
Retailers can get involved by ordering any of our collections!
