IHA launches news and information platform and welcomes Sean Daly to its team

International Housewares Association (IHA) launched HomePage News, the Home + Housewares Business Authority to provide the industry with an independent news and information platform, and welcomes Sean Daly as vice president, member and buyer relations.

HomePage News, launching this week with a dynamic B2B website for in-depth industry news and information, is the authoritative communication resource for the industry, according to Derek Miller, president of IHA.

“The closing of some traditional home and housewares news outlets presented a clear and immediate opportunity for IHA to fill the need for an innovative, responsive new resource,” Miller said. “This breakthrough B2B editorial platform answers a heightened demand for comprehensive, in-depth coverage at a critical time for our dynamic, growing and fast-evolving industry.”

HomePageNews.com includes breaking industry and retail news, new product information; executive interviews; features on marketing, merchandising and operational developments; coverage of all industry relevant trade shows; category and trend reports; market data and analysis; financial news; and expert commentary.

Peter Giannetti, longtime editor-in-chief of HomeWorld Business and Gourmet Insider, joined IHA earlier this year to spearhead development of this new B2B editorial initiative.

“The HomePage News digital platform offers highly engaging, colorfully visual and easy-to-navigate access to industry news and information,” Giannetti said. “The mobile-optimized HomePage News website sets a fresh, vibrant new standard for multimedia B2B content delivery for today’s demanding home and housewares decision makers.”

“The HomePage News team brings an incisive, unbiased approach to covering all facets of the home and housewares business, including supplier, retail and trade show news; exclusive market data and insights; extensive new product information; and in-depth category and trend reports,” Giannetti said.

HomePage News will also offer e-newsetters, video content and special reports including exclusive market data and consumer trend insights.

Sean Daly

Sean Daly has joined the International Housewares Association as vice president, member and buyer relations. Daly has more than 25 years’ experience in the housewares industry, with an emphasis on global sales and marketing, which he honed while working for several IHA-member companies.

“Sean brings a wealth of valuable experience to IHA, richly steeped in his involvement in many aspects of the home and housewares industry during his career,” said Derek Miller, president for IHA. “Through his employment with several IHA members, he has engaged heavily in many of the Association’s membership offerings. Sean’s unique perspective of having been an active member and user of IHA’s services will serve the industry extremely well.”

Daly began his housewares career in 1994 with U.S. Acrylic, serving as export coordinator and then director of international sales. He joined EKCO Housewares, now World Kitchen, in 1996 as regional director for Europe, Africa and the Caribbean. In 1999, Daly moved to InterDesign, Inc., holding several global business management roles, including vice president, international sales. In 2014, he joined Wenko Inc. as president, launching the 60-year-old German housewares brand in the U.S. Most recently Daly was a partner with Hudson Design Imports Ltd. where he assisted companies in building relationships with key U.S. retailers and developing sales with key accounts in LATAM, focusing on Mexico.

During his career, Daly has been an active member of IHA’s International Business Council (IBC), joining in the early days when it was called the Housewares Export Council of North American (HECNA) and serving as a board member and president of the organization.
