Cherie R. Marcum Promoted to VP of Finance for Dallas Market Center
(DALLAS) – Dallas Market Center, the world’s largest wholesale merchandise resource, today announced that Cherie R. Marcum has been promoted to vice president of finance. Marcum has been a part of the Dallas Market Center for the past year overseeing the finance department as a financial controller.
“Cherie did an exceptional job as controller for the Dallas Market Center,” said Lee Taitel, executive vice president and CFO, Dallas Market Center. “I know she’ll continue to be a strong mentor and key leader as part of our management team.”
Marcum has 14 years of experience in finance, starting as a staff auditor at Deloitte & Touche in Dallas. She earned an accounting degree from Baylor University in 1994, and then went on to finish her CPA certification. Before joining the Dallas Market Center, Marcum was a manager and controller at Carreker Corporation for more than seven years. There she gained management experience by supervising all accounting functions and assisting in the company’s strategic planning. She has also worked in the finance departments of Internet America, Northern Telecom and Citizens Communications. As vice president of finance for the Dallas Market Center, Marcum will oversee monthly financial closing processes, process annual company budgets, and complete yearly financial audits.
