DMC shares expansions for October Apparel & Accessories Market
Following the best-attended spring and summer markets in more than a decade, Dallas Market Center (DMC) announced details for its upcoming Apparel & Accessories Market, Oct. 26-29, 2021, including expanded temps, new showrooms, and a record number of new buyer applications.
October Market is the seasonal trade event presenting Spring 2022 fashion from leading brands and new designers as well as immediate delivery items. The market takes place across more than 1 million square feet of showrooms and temporary space adjacent to showrooms for gift, home, and holiday products.
“We are anticipating attendance by retailers from across the country for our largest apparel and accessories market of the year,” said Cindy Morris, president and CEO of Dallas Market Center. “Historic numbers of new buyers from coast to coast are choosing Dallas, matched by an expanding number of exhibitors showcasing the leading edge of fashion. This final market of the year will put an exclamation point on our successful series of events as the center of fashion commerce.”
Additions to the Marketplace
13th Floor
Dozens of new exhibitors will debut inside the marketplace. On the 13th floor, footwear resources continue to expand together with premier brands and new trends in the apparel and accessories permanent showrooms and temps. Featured brands on 13 for October include Agency Showroom, Linda Richards, Benazir Collection, Emelda Leather, and SCHUTZ.
12th Floor
On the 12th floor, the temporary tradeshow space is once again sold out. Recent expansions added space for more brands arriving from the west coast. To accommodate demand, overflow exhibits will take place on the 11th floor, together with Immediate Goods on 11, the section of curated fashion brands available for purchase at the show. New lines to 11 and 12 include Bacon Lettuce Tomato, Heimous, Perfect Peach, Vibrant M.I.U Denim, I&M Jeans, On Blue, Avery, Nylon, Inner Circle, Monkey Wave, Cupio, and Sol & Sea.
New Buyer Applications
In addition to new exhibitors, the number of new buyers continues to surge. New buyer applications are more than 50% ahead of 2019, reflecting both the marketplace’s position as an inspiring center of fashion and its momentum as a national marketplace attracting buyers from coast to coast. For October Market, independent retailers from across the country will be joined by multi-location retail, buying groups, and major stores eager to travel to a single location to fulfill their buying needs for fashion and accessories.
Market Events
Inspiring displays and events will provide critical trend intelligence for visiting buyers. The market theme, Ode To The Earth, will celebrate spring and natural elements including earth, wind, fire, and water. The market theme will be threaded through displays and events including the Tuesday evening fashion show featuring looks from throughout the marketplace.
For new buyers, a market orientation called DMC Buyer Scoop will take place every morning of the show at 9:00 a.m. in the 1st floor atrium. A full schedule of events is available via the market page on the DMC website and app.
Health & Safety Guidelines
Supporting the comfort, health and safety of all attendees, the market center continues several measures including highly recommending face covering. Shuttles will once again be available including hotel and campus routes. As well, on-site testing for COVID-19 will be available via Kai Medical Laboratory. The testing is optional and fee-based. The testing is a PCR test with results in 24 hours; the type of test most often required for travelers. The location is WTC 170, on the first floor of the World Trade Center.
