Ethical Gift Store For Ferring Proves A HitBy Neill BarstonWorthingHerald.co.uk

Offering a wealth of practical, ethically-sourced products is a formula which Justine Richardson hopes will be a winning one.

And her new business, Mia Bella Casa, in Ocean Parade, Ferring, is certainly not short on eye-catching furnishings which stand out from the crowd.

Its literal meaning – “my beautiful home” – seems apt, judging by the striking Spanish recycled glass, African-designed homeware, and range of distinctive gift cards, which feature in the store and drew a solid flow of customers for its colourful launch event.

Justine said: “Having previously worked at The Body Shop, I was clear that I wanted to be involved with a company that had high ethical standards.

“I looked for a role similar to my previous one and thought I’d go in a completely different direction and set up my own business.”

The 41-year-old, who lives in Chichester, said her Fair Trade goods had, so far, received a strong reception from customers.

Other products include distinctive, decorative cat-shaped doorstops and imaginative kitchenware items. There is also a dedicated craft and card area, called Badgers Cottage Corner, which adds an extra dimension to the store.
