Fleurt flower shop blossoms with unique arrangements and giftsBy Alison BrownriggNWSource.com

Reporting on a new store opening is happy business, especially when the store is as cheerful and mood elevating as Fleurt, a flower shop in the West Seattle Junction.

Owner Sam Crowley, who also owns Petal Candles, has always loved flowers, dabbling in wedding arrangements for friends and filling her house with unusual bouquets.

When the former Craze location became available in March, Crowley jumped at the chance to open her own flower shop, adding a burst of color to the West Seattle retail core.

“I’ve coveted this storefront for years,” Crowley explains. “When I saw it was for lease, I hounded the landlord and beat out 12 other people who also wanted it.”

Crowley sources the majority of her flowers from local farms, visiting one of the four flower markets in town each morning for the freshest available product. Customers can choose from pre-prepared bouquets and arrangements in vintage vessels starting at $35, or pull flowers by the stem to be arranged on the spot at the store’s flower bar.
