Michigan — Mothers Day is expected to bring a big boost to the economy.

According to a survey conducted by the National Retail Federation, this year people are likely to spend more money on mom compared to last year.

The prediction certainly seems accurate at one local flower shop.

Business is booming at Vogt’s flower shop in Flint. Owner Kreg Krueger has been busy since the store opened this morning. “Mother’s Day has really far exceeded any expectations that we have had.”

So is Kevin Harris. “Flowers, flowers for mothers day.”

“They are buying fresh bouquets, a lot of roses. People really like to send their mothers roses,” Krueger said.
