Gift shop celebrates AmericasBy Ike WilsonFrederickNewsPost.com

Emmitsburg — Treasure of the Americas, a gift shop with a Central American theme, recently became the latest addition to the local business scene.

The shop carries handcrafted wooden religious artifacts, treasure boxes, sugar and salad bowls, napkin holders, Indian pottery, scarves, tiny wooden houses, hand-woven blankets, clay vase pottery, wooden rosaries, bracelets, necklaces, embroidered shirts for men and women, candles, casual Guayaberas and nativity sets.

Nothing comes close to the hand-woven hammock that can be found in the stores, Henry said.
