Gift shop owner takes pride in service, community, environmentBy Steve PrisamentShoreNewsToday.com

Galloway Township – If it’s in Sunrise Cards and Gifts, it’s there because proprietor Sarah Bellino likes it.

“I pick out things that are special to me,” Bellino said Friday, April 9 as her shop approached its first anniversary Friday, April 16 next to Baristas in the Sunrise Plaza at 68 Jimmie Leeds Road. “I also think of what other people might like: is it nice, pretty – worth the money?”

She carries five brands of specialty cards: Leanin’ Tree, Day Spring, Laughing Elephant, Blue Mountain and Northern Exposures.

“There are some serious cards,” she said. “Some are funny, but it has to be for the right person. We’re environmentally concerned. Most cards are recycled – some partially recycled.”

The music in the shop is from the North Star label of the Orla Soy Candle Co. whose products are on the shelves.

Locally produced artwork is for sale: Erin Endicott does paintings, Sue Able offers concrete casted leaves and items, Mary Lou Faulk displays stained glass, Kathy Peterson has jewelry in the shop and Mary Jane Steele crochets baby items.
