High Point Market unveils events, education opportunities for spring 2024

Education and industry networking opportunities are slated for ANDMORE at High Point Market this spring with a packed schedule of more than 30 seminars and events — including six CEU-eligible courses — April 13-17.

“Beyond world-class sourcing, ANDMORE at High Point Market gathers tastemakers and industry moguls to share insights exploring best business practices and impactful design,” said Karen Olson, executive vice president and chief marketing officer of ANDMORE. “Seminars, celebrations and tours combine to create a fruitful market experience driven by industry connection.”

Early events kick-start market week

Aligning with the new Spring Friday opening set for ANDMORE’s temporary offerings, Suites at Market Square unlocks campus activities one day before market’s official opening.

Andrea Schumacher of Andrea Schumacher Interiors hosts a Book Signing & Liesl Wallpaper Collection Launch on Friday, April 12, at 2 p.m., on the ground floor of Suites, complete with displays and light bites and beverages. Susie Novak, founder of Susie Novak Interiors, leads a Shoppe Object — High Point Highlights Tour exploring standout products and fresh resources on Friday at 2 p.m.

Design evolution education sessions

Discussion on design is illuminated at High Point Market, with keynote presentations and educational journeys identifying the new and next in the design space. The Sherwin-Williams Seminar Space on the third floor of Suites presents four trend-driven seminars.

American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) collaborates with Sherwin-Williams in ASID Talking Trends in Residential Design: Seek Connection, Quiet Luxury and Personalization (1 CEU), when Joni Vanderslice, Christi Barbour, Susan Currie, Laura Sullivan and Dr. Dawn Haynie explore the latest trends impacting interior design on Saturday, April 13, at 11 a.m. Emily Kantz, Sherwin-Williams Color marketing manager, leads the Sherwin-Williams 2024 Colormix Forecast on Saturday, April 13, at 1 p.m., to preview the year’s top color and design trends (1 CEU).

Eric Choi and Zoe Feldman discuss lighting’s evolution and the industry’s subsequent pivot and adaptation in Navigating Technology Advancements in Lighting Innovation!, on Sunday, April 14, at 1 p.m., moderated by Diane Falvey and in partnership with Furniture, Lighting + Décor (1 CEU). Natalie Miller, Sherwin-Williams Designer Account Executive, explores dynamics impacting residential design in Wellness Design in the Home on Monday, April 15, at 11 a.m. (1 CEU).

Business sessions

Industry veterans offer organizational insights through two business-focused sessions designed to influence better business practices.

Mike Peterson, founder of Science in Design, leads a conversation combining elements of science and business as he identifies key elements of brand marketing in The Power of Personal Branding (1 CEU) on Saturday, April 13, at 3 p.m.

In Support Yourself, Your Firm and Your Employees, Beth Diana Smith, Peter Rowe and Matthew De Geeter discuss opportunities to maintain a healthy business on Monday, April 15, at 1 p.m. (1 CEU).

Expert-led tours

Guided education aims to elevate market discovery with eight tours across three days of the buying event, according to ANDMORE.

Nikki Chu of Nikki Chu Home guides buyers through the INTERHALL Highlights Tour on Saturday, April 13, at 2 p.m., to discover the must-haves of INTERHALL this Spring. Celebrity lifestyle expert and interior designer, Evette Rios, leads the Shoppe Object — High Point Highlights Tour for a curated journey highlighting next level designs in Shoppe Object — High Point on Sunday, April 14, at 11:30 a.m.

The Suite Spot Tours series highlights the best of Suites over three days of market with 90-minute tours. Noel Gatts of Noel Gatts Design starts on Saturday, April 13, at 3:30 p.m.; Windsor Dalton of Windsor Dalton Designs leads on Sunday, April 14, at 1:30 p.m.; and Karen Wolf of k+co LIVING closes the series on Monday, April 15, at 11:30 a.m. All Suite Spot tours depart from the Sherwin-Williams Designer Lounge on the top floor of Suites.

In Photography Like a Pro: Talk & Tour, Linda Holt of Linda Holt Creative gives a hands-on presentation with photography tips to transform everyday photos into curated portfolios. Linda leads two sessions on Sunday, April 14, at 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.

ANDMORE at High Point Market closes its tour series with the Lighting Highlights Tour led by Laetitia Laurent of Laure Nell Interiors for a journey through lighting resources on Monday, April 15, at 1:30 p.m.

Market celebrations and amenities

Alongside seminars and tours, market attendees can enjoy collection launches, themed celebrations and daily food and beverage amenities offered across five days of High Point Market, including light bites, complimentary cocktail hours and buyer breakfasts.

SALON hosts the Spring Peeps Party on Saturday, April 13, at 4 p.m., for complimentary springtime treats and specialty cocktails. HINKLEY & House Beautiful celebrate HINKLEY’s new 15,000 square foot showroom, located in Market Square, with craft cocktails, hors d’oeuvres and live music on Sunday at 4 p.m. Eichholtz hosts Party with a Purpose in partnership with Gift for Life’s Home vs. Hunger team, raising funds to support World Central Kitchen’s crisis-related hunger relief on Sunday at 5:30 p.m.

Exhibitor-hosted events add to festivities, with highlights including six design-forward immersive gatherings.

300 E. Green presents the Abbyson Home x JoJo Fletcher Meet & Greet, complete with appetizers and drinks, on Saturday, April 13, at 2 p.m. Paul Montogomery celebrates the launch of two collaborations for its mural collection: The Tony Duquette estate launches on Saturday, April 13, at 2 p.m., and Lillian August showcases on Sunday, April 14 at 2 p.m, on the ground floor of Suites. Rug & Kilim presents The Art of Finding and Maintaining Great Partners in SALON as Peter Spalding, Alexa Hampton and Robin Gannon share insights on maintaining a strong network within the design trade on Sunday, April 14, at 4:30 p.m. Join Evette Rios in the International Home Furnishings Center (IHFC) with LR Home to Create a “Vision Board” Tote Bag on Sunday at 3 p.m., to practice mindfulness and design. Gray Benko Designs presents the Wheaton Whaley Home Meet & Greet with Magnolia Network’s Gray Benko and Chelcie Eastman to discuss Wheaton Whaley’s High Point debut on Monday, April 15, at 10 a.m.
