ICON 2011 Main Stage Is Set

ATLANTA—Grammy-winning singer/songwriter and guitarist Kenny Loggins takes the stage and steps into the AmericasMart spotlight at ICON HONORS 2011 as featured entertainer in the gift and home furnishings industry’s premiere program celebrating global innovation.

Loggins’ hits over four decades and 12 platinum albums reveal his lifelong passion for exploring the endless power of song. His ICON HONORS performance highlights a spectacular evening created to champion the achievements of those in the gift and home furnishings arena whose passion for what they do is as genuine as the music they will enjoy.

The concert shares the ICON 2011 main stage with Honors presented to home and gift retailers, manufacturers, sales agents and service providers from across the industry, plus a nationally acclaimed keynote speaker soon to be announced.

“Kenny Loggins is iconic in his own right as the essential creative force in music spanning the range of human emotion,” says Jeffrey L. Portman, Sr., president and chief operating office of ICON HONORS co-sponsor AmericasMart Atlanta. “His songs are drawn from the mosaic of life experiences in the same way that ICON HONORS captures the hopes and dreams of those we celebrate,” Portman adds.

Tickets for the July 14 event are available to Atlanta International Gift & Home Furnishings Market registered buyers and exhibitors now at HYPERLINK “http://www.AmericasMarticonhonors.com” www.AmericasMarticonhonors.com, with full details on the dinner, HONORS presentations and Kenny Loggins performance also available there.

From a guitarist in rock bands, an acclaimed songwriter and a legendary country-rock duo to a sonic pioneer of smooth jazz, soundtrack superstar and live performer, Kenny Loggins is a massively successful and accomplished artist. For the past four decades Loggins has been creating and producing award-winning albums and hit songs. His masterpieces include million-selling solo albums such as Celebrate Me Home, Keep The Fire, High Adventure and Nightwatch and hit “This Is It,” which helped him win top honor of Best Male Pop Vocal Grammy in 1980. Adding to his fame, in the 80s Loggins became the king of movie theme songs with “I’m Alright” from Caddyshack, “Footloose” from its namesake and “Danger Zone” from Top Gun, to name a few. His list of Grammy awards is long and so is his reign as a top musician. He brings this talent live to Atlanta for the ICON HONORS celebration this July.

The ICON HONORS 2011 celebration is scheduled for Thursday, July 14 at the Atlanta Marriott Marquis as the premier event of the Atlanta International Gift & Home Furnishings Market (July 13-20, 2011). The Call for Submissions and Nominations is now open and continues through May 16, 2011 for all retailers, manufacturers, sales agencies and service providers who wish to compete. The official entry form is available at www.AmericasMarticonhonors.com. # # #
