New gift shops to celebrate grand opening
Everyone needs a little pink in their life, at least that’s the motto Pink Polkadots owner Jennifer Jones lives by. Beginning today Wetumpka residents will be able to browse the merchandise as Pink Polkadots and the Shoppes of Wetumpka celebrate their grand opening next to American Oak on U.S. Highway 231.
“The goal is that next door we will expand and have 26 “shops” in the Shoppes of Wetumpka and this space will become entirely Pink Polkadots,” said Jones, who along with her father Buddy Ward owns the business. “We are at the mall until after Christmas.”
The Shoppes of We tump ka will give different people space to sell their creations. Right now, Jones said she has two already in place and two more set to open soon.
“We are also going to open up and do a consignment store with stuff year round,” said Jones. “Hope fully that will be open by March 1. Right now we are just trying to get everything in place for the Christmas rush.”
One of the main reason’s Pink Polkadots has a storefront is to help keep local money in the area.
“We wanted to give Wetumpka residents a chance sell their stuff and showcase what they’ve got,” said Michael Boyle who has been helping Jones ready the store for the grand opening.
