New York’s Newest Welcomes 200 New Companies to NYIGF

White Plains, NY – An influx of some 200 new companies from 17 countries – representing businesses of all sizes, including individual designers, importers, and major manufacturers – will be among exhibitors debuting new gift, home and lifestyle products in the New York’s Newest division of the winter 2011 New York International Gift Fair® (NYIGF®).

“New York’s Newest is a discovery zone where buyers can source cross-category, high-quality resources new to the New York market,” said Dorothy Belshaw, NYIGF director and GLM senior vice president. ” New York’s Newest is a must-attend for savvy retailers that are looking to freshen and diversify their assortments on a regular basis.”

Presented at New York City’s Passenger Ship Terminal Pier 92, New York’s Newest will feature a concentration of 200 exhibitors new to NYIGF.  Within the division’s full range of product categories, jewelry and personal accessories will be especially well-represented this winter.

Innovative personal accessories will be showcased by many companies.  Some highlights include Mad Bay Designs’s nautical collection of bags and pillows; Angelrox’s eco- friendly contemporary women’s apparel and wraps including maternity; Native Union’s mobile phone accessories; and BLUNT USA’s umbrellas.

Jewelry suppliers will present a full range of styles and price points, from the classic sterling and crystal Paul Costelloe collections to the unisex ceramic gems by Dandy and the ethnic-inspired woven necklaces by Chibi Jewels. Environmentally responsible designers also will be featured, with Foundling’s pieces created from recycled silver and bits of found fabric, paper and beads, and Casalinda Studios jewelry, which utilizes only recycled precious and semi-precious metals and recycled, reclaimed and vintage stones and beads.

Among the products offered by international exhibitors are jewelry by Love from Venus Australia; Bulgarian pottery by Griffin 22; handmade Peruvian home textiles from Inversiones Textiles; fair trade products from Uganda from Jinja Fair Trade; and fair trade gifts from around the world featuring the Kisii Stone from Venture Imports.

Responding to a growing demand for personalized products with uplifting messages, several companies will be offering inspirational products. These include “Attitude of Gratitude” rocks by Gratitude Rocks LLC; iBean™ Inspiration beans by iBeanInspired; and the FortuneKeeper necklace by FortuneKeeper LLC.

On Saturday, January 29, from 8:30 to 10:00 am, retailers are invited to attend the New York’s Newest welcome reception on Pier 92 to celebrate the market’s opening day. Buyers can browse the aisles while enjoying coffee and bagels, compliments of Gifts & Decorative Accessories.
