NYIGF Expands Tabletop Offerings for Summer Market
White Plains, NY — North America’s largest collection of tabletop suppliers will be even bigger this summer, with the expansion of Accent on Tabletop at the New York International Gift Fair® (NYIGF®), August 15-19, 2010, at New York City’s Jacob K. Javits Convention Center. Other tabletop-related summer 2010 highlights include a dynamic entrance in the Tabletop & Housewares division featuring industry and design leaders, the return of key suppliers to the New York market, and first-time participation in NYIGF by several established tabletop companies.
“With more than 500 high-end tabletop and housewares suppliers, NYIGF presents the premier collection of tabletop, kitchen and dining resources in the USA,” said Dorothy Belshaw, NYIGF director and GLM senior vice president. “As the economy improves, many key suppliers are returning to the New York market, several long-standing exhibitors are planning expansions, and others are making their debut at NYIGF.”
This summer, Accent on Tabletop – a concentration of design-driven tabletop and home entertaining product suppliers bridging NYIGF’s Tabletop & Housewares and Accent on Design® divisions – will expand to include BeHome, Bella Cucina, Annie Modica and Tea Forte. These newcomers will complement returning resources including: Alan Lee Collection, Alex Marshall, Home James, Joseph Joseph, Michael Wainwright, Tamara Childs and Waylon Gregory Studios.
In addition, the Tabletop & Housewares exhibit floor entrance has been reconfigured to feature expanded line presentations by key tabletop designers, such as Michael Aram and Julia Knight, and leading tabletop brands, such as Juliska and Mariposa. According to Belshaw, “The dynamic ‘up-front’ placement of these key tabletop suppliers sets the tone for the overall quality of offerings in theTabletop & Housewares division.”
Notable additions to the summer 2010 market include first-time NYIGF participants Churchill China, featuring newly licensed Jamie Oliver ceramic ware, and ScanTrends; representing seven companies from Denmark and Italy. Other leading companies returning to NYIGF following an absence from the New York market are: Galena (Colombian silver and wood serveware), Gien (smartly designed French dinnerware and accessories), Nouvelle Studios (exquisite Mexican designer glass products), Talisman Designs (whimsical household tools and gadgets) and Urban Oasis (high-design home goods).
In total, NYIGF’s 10 divisions, present some 500 gourmet resources, with a concentration of 220 table and kitchen resources in the Fair’s Tabletop & Housewares division, design-driven suppliers inAccent on Design and artisanal lines in Handmade®. Alessi, ASA Selection and Stelton are among notable tabletop suppliers returning to Accent on Design for the summer 2010 market. “NYIGF is the ideal platform for ASA and Stelton to build distribution,” said Nils Lindblad, whose company represents both lines. “This market fits with their brand strategy to meet high-end and independent retailers, as well as chain stores.”
Tabletop & Housewares features leading brands and innovative new resources for kitchen and table, including glassware, serveware, dinnerware, bakeware, kitchen gadgets, cutlery/flatware, kitchen textiles, table linens, barware and wine accessories. The summer 2010 edition of NYIGF takes place Saturday, August 14, through Thursday, August 19, 2010, at New York City’s Jacob K. Javits Convention Center and Passenger Ship Terminal Piers 92 and 94.
