Pacific Market Center Abuzz with new trends for Winter Gift & Home Accessories Show
Seattle – Pacific Market Center, the leading destination market for home, lifestyle and giftware products on the west coast, creates a unique opportunity for buyers to browse the latest industry trends and up-in-coming new product lines at the Winter Gift & Home Accessories Show on January 30-February 5, 2008. At this year’s Winter Gift & Home Accessories Show, buyers can expect to find “green” products encompassing all categories of the retail market, rich and elegant contemporary to traditional decor, luxury houseware linens, and interactive web toys for children.
Showroom tenants at Pacific Market Center find the following product highlights representative of 2008 trends:
Green products:With the green movement in full force, consumers are more concerned with the contents of the products they are buying. Encompassing everything from textiles and house and kitchenwares to spa and personal care, green products will be one of the most popular product categories at the Winter Gift & Home Accessories Show. Due to their increased popularity, a large number of showrooms at Pacific Market Center have been updating their product offerings to include the latest in green.
- Bamboo and organic textiles: Available in everything from kitchen towels and dishcloths to baby clothes, linens and women’s lounge wear. Bamboo and organic textiles are becoming increasingly popular because of their antimicrobial, antibacterial, naturally hypoallergenic quality, which is perfect for sensitive skin, containing no harsh dyes or chemicals. An increasing number of showrooms are beginning to carry green textile products, including Melissa Dodge & Associates, AKA, and many others. Various bamboo and organic textiles products popular among consumers include bamboo swaddling blankets by Satsuma Designs, baby and nursery linens by Piccolo Bambino, and organic kitchen and table linens by Ritz.
- House and kitchenware: Environmentally friendly insulated commuter mugs, dishwasher safe cutting boards made of renewable wood products, organic cleaning tools, environmental home cleaning products and furniture polishes. Some consumer favorites available include 100 percent organic cleaning tools by Bayes Cleaners and the world’s first dishwasher safe wooden cutting board, made of renewable wood products by Epicurean Cutting Surfaces.
- Spa and personal care: Antioxidant body care products including pomegranate, which consists of an all-natural and antioxidant ingredient base. Other popular green ingredients include grape seed, grapefruit and soy milk. Spa and personal care lines make up 55 percent of the products featured in showrooms at Pacific Market Center. One of many showrooms featuring green products includes The Barron Collection. Some top sellers available at this showroom include Burt’s Bees, all natural product line and Archipelago Botanicals, soy milk based products.

Growing trends in home furnishings are elegant accent furniture, wall decor, and accessories. Buyers visiting the show will find solid classic colors of black, white, espresso, red and jewel tones with richness created by multiple layers of metallic color highlights. At Pacific Market Center, 50 percent of the showrooms feature home furnishing products. For example, the Alayne Grothen & Company showroom features the popular product lines Old World Design’s collection of lamps; Badash Crystal’s collection of glass art; Texture Home Decor’s copper metallic home decor, and Cyan Design’s collection of accents.
Houseware linens:
50 percent of showroom offerings feature houseware and home furnishing products at Pacific Market Center. The trend in elegant and rich fabrics and colors cross over into houseware linen products. This year’s show will feature the latest in luxury bed, bath, kitchen, and table linens including lace-embellished towels and bedding, in addition to elegant night and loungewear made of bamboo textiles. Toys:
Based on consumer demand, buyers will see an increased popularity in interactive web toys for children, offering a way to learn while playing, making these toys favorites among parents. At Pacific Market Center, 53 percent of showroom offerings feature children’s product lines. Some popular web based products include Webkinz, the interactive pet website, and Barbiegirl.com. In addition, wooden toys and the Wheely Bug by Prince Lionheart available at the Melissa Dodge & Associates showroom, continue to be popular products.
In addition to featuring the latest in trend-setting products, Pacific Market Center will offer buyers a chance to see new product lines exclusive to the Winter Gift & Home Accessories Show.
