New Timeframe, Management Announced for Portland Gift and Accessories Show

White Plains, NY … Effective immediately, the summer edition of the semi-annual Portland Gift & Accessories Show will shift to a new fall timeframe, to run in conjunction with the annual Portland Cash & Carry Show. In 2009, the events – both owned by dmg world media – will be held October 9-11, at the Oregon Convention Center.

With this change, Western Exhibitors, Inc. will resume management responsibility for the fall edition of the Portland Gift & Accessories Show. The company owned the event until 2005, when the Show was purchased by dmg world media. It continued managing the event, on behalf of dmg world media, until January 2008. It has been managing the Portland Cash & Carry Show, on behalf of GLM®, a dmg world media business, since 2005.

“Given the existing synergies between these two established events, pairing the Portland Gift & Accessories Show and the Portland Cash & Carry Show will allow us to position the market to maximize third quarter buying and selling opportunities for the Pacific Northwest region,” commented Chris Gowe, vice president, GLM. Wendy Tonkin, president, Western Exhibitors, Inc. added, “With Western Exhibitors’ 70+ years of tradeshow management expertise combined with our grassroots knowledge of the Portland gift & accessories portfolio, the integration of these two events will be seamless for our collective customers.”

The Portland Gift & Accessories Show offers a boutique buying experience for independent retailers, featuring some 250 exhibitors. The Portland Cash & Carry Show presents 125 exhibitors, offering gifts and related merchandise, available for immediate delivery. Together, the events will attract more than 5,500 retail attendees and guests.
