Primitives by Kathy to open expanded Dallas showroom

Dallas Market Center and Primitives by Kathy, a manufacturer of home décor, home accents and gifts, will launch a new and expanded showroom in January 2024.

The new showroom will be located on the first floor of the Trade Mart (1333, 1329 and 1315) and will serve customers from the entire Central and Western U.S. as the only Primitives by Kathy location west of the Mississippi River.

The current showroom in WTC 334 will be open and welcoming buyers through September while the new showroom of more than 5,000 square feet will showcase a large array of everyday and seasonal décor and gifts, including wall décor and signs, kitchen and entertaining items, textiles, accents, paper products and more.

“We know that this new showroom will be an important Trade Mart destination serving the entire western U.S.,” said Cindy Morris, president and CEO of Dallas Market Center. “Kathy’s unique combination of artistry, entrepreneurism and generosity are highly valued by our retail customers.”

“We are investing and expanding in Dallas because we firmly believe that we can serve more buyers from such an active marketplace in a central location,” said Kathy Phillips, CEO of Primitives by Kathy. “We look forward to working with the market center to reach more new customers and showcase great products.”

The news follows a series of announcements from Dallas Market Center, including the addition of the flagship Anne McGilvray and OneCoast showrooms, opening in January 2024, as well as the launch of the reimagined Temps at Total Home & Gift Market.

Founded in 1997, Primitives by Kathy began with one simple design — a “primitive candle box” — and today represents more than 8,000 active items. The company offers retailers year-round, trend-relevant products in a diverse range of product types and art styles that aim to appeal to a wide range of consumers.
