RSVP’s Dakota Charm to feature local arts, crafts
Artists and crafters will have an opportunity to showcase their work at a new gift store to open in T-Rex Plaza during May.
The gift store, called Dakota Charm, will feature local arts and crafts, as well as Pride of Dakota products, said Chelsea Mann, VISTA worker in charge of the project.
Dakota Charm will operateunder the auspices of RSVP Enterprises — a nonprofit to raise funds for RSVP+ endeavors, according to a press release.
The store will be an outlet for artists from the Dakotas, as well as supporting the RSVP+ mission — assisting individuals of all ages to find volunteer opportunities, said Mann.
“There are a lot of people in this area who have a lot of talent, but have no central place for people to purchase their work on a regular basis,” she said. “This is a place for the whole community. There are so many talented artists in the area that we wanted to have an outlet for them to be creative.”
She added, “We support the idea of shopping locally, and we encourage residents to support this as well. This store will fulfill that.”
