Shoppe Object cancels October event, adds virtual Shoppe On
Shoppe Object, the bi-annual independent tradeshow for home and gift, announced the cancellation of its October show in New York City, due to safety concerns surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic. The show plans to resume the physical edition in February 2021.
Shoppe Object will launch Shoppe On, an online experience and digital platform on Aug. 24, 2020. Shoppe On will serve as a curated, content-rich bridge between the Shoppe Object community of brands and top-tier retailers from around the world and deliver the best of the Shoppe Object show experience in a digital format with features like:
- B2B Commerce: Robust brand showrooms offering detailed product libraries and full order-writing capabilities for qualified buyers from start to finish.
- Curated editorial, a video library, and live, interactive programming to activate on four live show dates (Aug 24-27) to engage, inform and capture the attention of viewers and buyers.
- A fusion of essential technology with elevated content for an immersive experience that brings the Shoppe Object community to life, online.
“Our community is our number one focus,” said Jesse James, co-founder of Shoppe Object. “While we can’t wait to meet again in person, we are erring on the side of caution and postponing all IRL experiences until we feel truly confident in being able to ensure the safety of our exhibitors and attendees. Shoppe On has been in the works since before the pandemic – our market has particular needs, a particular aesthetic and we want to engage on a platform that feels like it’s been created for us – that’s what Shoppe On is; it’s made for us by us.”
“Tradeshows have been trying to make the move to digital for many years, but no time felt as urgent as it does now,” said Minya Quirk, co-founder of Shoppe Object. “We are building our platform with a new future in mind; one that places equal importance on meeting in real life and facilitating business remotely.”
Shoppe Object is taking applications to be a part of Shoppe On, and buyers can preregister for approval. For more information visit www.shoppeobject.com/shoppeon.
