Naples, FL – “The Lady from Haiti” Caribbean Art Gallery and Gift Boutique, located on 5th Ave. South in Naples, FL is not just a catchy name; it is much more. It is a story of love.

In the mid 1980s, Melody Bales was a second grade teacher and swim instructor in Haiti. Six years came and went, “each year I swore I wouldn’t go back,” Bales said. “Three years in a row, I sold my car, then changed my mind and stayed.”

Bales loved the kindness of the Haitian people and just could not let go. She always ended up staying, “I just couldn’t figure under what spell I was living,” said Bales, who owns the Caribbean Gallery.
