Whimsical artwork housed In the Light
Nestled among the Shops of Olde Marco is In the Light, a local destination for art lovers and gift buyers.
Fun and whimsical, the shop is as colorful as its energetic owner, Jeane Brennan.
Brennan, a new member of the Marco Island Area Chamber of Commerce, celebrated two and half years in business with a ribbon-cutting party on April 15.
“The ribbon cutting reminds people we are here,” said Brennan. “The Shops of Olde Marco are a best kept secret of the island and this is a great time to rediscover the area.”
A writer and former newspaper advertising rep who sought the independence of self-employment, Brennan took a chance on renting a space in the Shops of Olde Marco without really knowing what the space would evolve into.
“I love the atmosphere here,” said Brennan. “I originally thought it would be a nice place to write and financially I would find a way. I made the decision because it felt right and I’ve had that feeling ever since.”
