Wholesalecrafts.com Reports 2009 2nd Quarter Sales Results
Mooresville, NC — After sluggish first quarter online sales, Wholesalecrafts.com, the premier web service for sourcing American and Canadian made crafts, reports a small second quarter increase over 2008 second quarter, but a significant increase between first and second quarters, 2009. Total online sales for April, May and June 2009 were $705, 576 – a 1% increase over 2008 second quarter results. 3,365 orders were placed online – an 8.58% increase over 2008 second quarter orders. The web service also reports 397 new retailers enrolled for a total of 17,691 enrolled retailers and 1,268 enrolled artists to date.
“It is interesting to note”, said Nancy Vince, President, “the second quarter did 25.7% better than the first quarter of 2009 in direct artist sales.” Wholesalecrafts.com estimates that only 30% of transactions are placed through their shopping cart, and the rest bypass their system by retailers placing orders by phone, fax or email directly with artists.
Wholesalecrafts.com reports “up to the second statistics” on their site, which can be accessed by its members. The site reports total sales, number of orders and number of inquiries. Retailers may place orders through the shopping cart or directly through the artists. Wholesalecrafts.com does not charge a commission on sales.
Enrollment in Wholesalecrafts.com is free for retailers. Artists pay a fee and are eligible for many marketing opportunities including a printed Buyers Guide catalog, which is mailed four times a year to retailers, co-op advertising in top trade publications, and an annual trade show, American Craft Retailers Expo (ACRE) in Las Vegas, NV. Artists may receive a temporary ID and password by calling 1-888-427-2381.
Wholesalecrafts.com features jewelry, home décor, gifts, fashion accessories, and garden accessories in a wide array of price points and styles.
