Will new card lure shoppers?By NorthJersey.com

Ridgewood — The Ridgewood Chamber of Commerce hopes a new rewards card that offers discounts and promotions will lure shoppers to village stores and businesses.

The cards have been in circulation for a month, and the feedback so far has been positive, said Chamber President Scott Lief.

“We have consistently been looking for ways to drive traffic into Ridgewood businesses and although this isn’t a new idea by any means, people are hearing about it.”

More than 50 businesses, eateries, stores, financial institutions and non-profits are participating with rewards card promotions and discounts, said Joan Groome, executive director of the Chamber of Commerce.

“Each store is handing out the card to their customers and encouraging them to go to other stores who are participating,” Groome said. “The card is free to the consumer and participating Chamber of Commerce members.”
