Big Change in Store for Ex*Tracts in 2008

White Plains, NY – Following over a decade of growth, EX*TRACTS: New discoveries in beauty and wellness, will double in size to feature 150 companies when it returns to New York City’s Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in February 2008. The semi-annual market will continue to run concurrently with the New York International Gift Fair (NYIGF), offering spa, salon and specialty retailers access to a broad range of personal care and well-being lines, as well as complementary gift and home merchandise.

According to George Little Management, LLC (GLM), EX*TRACTS’ return to the Javits Center affords the show an opportunity for immediate growth in some 15,000 net square feet of exhibit space. The exhibitor base will be comprised of current EX*TRACTS participants who will move to Javits from the Metropolitan Pavilion, as well as personal care suppliers who will shift from other divisions of the NYIGF into EX*TRACTS.

Beginning in February 2008, EX*TRACTS will be located in Hall 1A, on Level One at the North end of the Javits Center, alongside NYIGF’s Personal Accessories and At Home divisions. This adjacency to fashion accessories as well as mid-to-high-end bed, bath, linen and home accessory products, will offer synergistic buying and selling opportunities for both personal care and home fashions market participants.

EX*TRACTS, which has been co-located with the NYIGF since 2005, will maintain its branding and identity and will be marketed vertically to spa, salon and specialty retailers, as well as horizontally within NYIGF’s gift and home industry outreach. GLM plans for EX*TRACTS to remain at the Javits Center, following its move there in 2008, for the foreseeable future.

The 23rd semi-annual edition of EX*TRACTS will run Saturday, February 2, through Wednesday, February 6, 2008, at New York City’s Jacob K. Javits Convention Center. Some 150 companies, featuring cosmetics, perfumes, skincare, bath & body care, beauty accessories, hair care, natural/organic products and well-being lines are expected to participate.

Together, EX*TRACTS and the NYIGF will present some 2,800 exhibitors at the Javits Center, Passenger Ship Terminal Piers and Metropolitan Pavilion. More than 40,000 buyers from around the world are expected to attend.
