NYIGF “Night on Broadway” Tickets Available Now
White Plains, NY — Specially-priced tickets for West Side Story will be offered to New York International Gift Fair® (NYIGF®) participants through the Fair’s popular “Night on Broadway” during the summer 2009 market. Tickets for the Tuesday, August 18, performance cost just $90 each.
“NYIGF’s ‘Night on Broadway’ event is one of the most anticipated highlights of market week,” said Dorothy Belshaw, NYIGF director. “Our ticket subsidy allows market participants to affordably enjoy ‘Only in New York’ after-hours offerings.”
Hailed as one of the most memorable musicals and greatest love stories of all time, West Side Story follows star-crossed lovers caught between rival street gangs on the turbulent streets of New York City in the 1950s. Directed by librettist Arthur Laurents, the show features Leonard Bernstein and Stephen Sondheim’s legendary score, featuring such classic songs as “Something’s Coming,” “Tonight,” “America,” “I Feel Pretty” and “Somewhere.” The current production, which is a novel, bilingual incarnation, has been modernized for the modern theater aficionado.
NYIGF runs Saturday, August 15, through Thursday, August 20, at New York City’s Jacob K. Javits Convention Center and Passenger Ship Terminal Piers 92 and 94. NYIGF is the nation’s premier gift, home and lifestyle marketplace, with 2,900 exhibiting companies featuring an extraordinary breadth and depth of design-driven home fashion products and complementary giftware. Some 30,000 attendees from all 50 states and around the world are expected. For information and registration, visit www.nyigf.com.
